day twenty-four {threesixtyfive} yellow roses and how I did it

I said the other day I was inspired to do florals and so I did another. I am in love with this one too! You may be asking why? What would you use something like this for? These series of florals would be beautiful on a fine art gallery wrapped canvas in a girl’s room or even a living area of a home, the front of a greeting card, the possibilities are endless really. Plus it is just another way to pick up my camera each day and attempt new things, learn more about the characteristics of light. Also learning about the editing process. This print has both a vintage finish as well as texture applied and I think that is what gives it character…Want to see the set-up so you can see how easy this is?

Doesn’t look like much so you are probably thinking how did the above come from this set-up? Letting in lots of aperture and shooting wide open- 1/250, ISO 100, f/1.4, 85 mm 1.2 lens on Canon 5d Mark II. The white boards are just cheap foam board from Michaels (or anywhere else like that) and the colored paper is actually seamless photography backdrop paper. The “vase” is actually a stemless wine glass…Wanna see what it looked like SOOC (straight out of camera)? It was actually pretty before the edit…
