As you sift through your bag deciding which lens to use for which shot keep in mind the lens you chose can give your image a completely different look. I didn’t plan on this post when I took these images (otherwise I would have brought even more lenses to try since Baby Asher was such a rockstar out there in the almost-rain) but as I was culling I thought, hey this is coolSo here you go-same settings, same camera body, different lenses (all of which are listed below the images in my amazon suggestion box-I love amazon prime!). Oh and you must see Asher’s session on the blog…..go HERE.
First, a lens that most professional photographers have in their arsenal…a 50 mm f/1.4 – this one is the Sigma Art | I love how this one allows me to get close to Asher but to also get a lot of the beauty of the location in.
The (new for me) Canon 135L f/1.2 | This one starts to bring Asher front and center and allows for that cream bokeh in the background with all that yummy light….
Want even more compression? More bokeh, more creaminess, more bringing Baby Asher to the attention of the eye? Let’s take it one further and put on the Canon 200 mm f/1.8
Now listen, the 50 can give you pretty bokeh too but I shot that one a different way. Here is another using the Sigma Art 50 mm – there is something to be said about how you use your lens & composition. By the way, notice anything different about this picture (below) than in all three of the others? Can you spot it? That is one of the bonus things I teach in my soon to be released Virtual Portrait Workshop. If you want to be the first to know come on over and sign up HERE.
A few Announcements (and lenses are below this)….I have one spot in less than 2 weeks at my Oak Island, NC Portrait Workshop….join us! Want more Details? Click the image…
