homemade (kindof) tortilla chips | Friday Funday Feature Happy Early Cinco de Mayo

Want to Pin this? HERE you go! If you know me at all you know I LOVE chips and salsa. In fact, I make my own salsa because I love it so much-so fresh! HERE is that recipe if you are interested-or Pin It HERE. So I saw this recipe HERE come up but I felt that it could be easier and I wanted to use something a little different so here goes!

First, (well preheat your oven to 425 degrees) mix together a few tablespoons of olive oil, a tablespoon or so of lime juice, salt, and whatever spice(s) you want-I used a little cayenne pepper.

 

 

I used corn tortillas…

 

 

Then I used a brush (no its not a pastry brush-its an artist brush that I bought like 20 of for next to nothing-I like these) and brushed the mixture on the front and back of each tortilla and then stacked them up.

 

 

 

 

Then I took a large knife and cut them into small and big chips (it is easier to put the oil on before cutting them because otherwise you are brushing oil on every.single.chip) and spread them out on a cookie sheet.

 

Make sure you rotate your pan a ton unless your oven cooks really evenly. I have not seen a need to flip the chips over like other recipes – they take between 4-8 minutes to bake…
