Everyone is talking about Christmas coming too early but, for me, Thanksgiving is late this year. Whereas Black Friday shopping & Thanksgiving were done by this time last year and I was putting up my post-Thankgiving tree, this year it is reversed! I have no problem with that. I will be busy with work next week until the next and today was perfect-it feels like Christmas outside-for once, it is cold outside for Thanksgiving! I am thrilled to get to wear boots and coats like the rest of the U.S. for Thanksgiving. I can clearly remember in years past rain and humidity and heat on a day where you are consuming way too much food-its much more fun to eat in cold weather
I would love to go chop down our tree but apparently Florida does not grow firs and I love Frasiers so we settle for what looks to be a tree farm hehe.
For some reason I always love the picture I take of the kids the day we get our tree…I think the kids are so excited and happy. Also, for some reason, I love my son’s profile when he is smiling-just love it!
Had to get a belly pic! Today I am 10 weeks 6 days, according to dr I am 11 weeks 5 days or something like that!
I do this every year so today when I made the kids lunch I peeled them some oranges; took the peels, added cinnamon sticks, vanilla, and simmered in apple juice. It smells like heaven, like Thanksgiving, like Christmas, life Fall…
We were freezing when we got back from tree picking so we made hot chocolate..
We get a real tree every year-I couldn’t imagine it any other way. Its how we did it when I was a child and I can’t smell evergreen without thinking Christmas. I know the alternative would be easier but…
I was so excited the other day when I went to the dr after my er trip that the baby was good that I bought this carousel in CVS hah all giddy and just had to buy something tacky for the kids-they love it!
We have pretty ornaments but we have ones that aren’t that pretty but meaningful-this one is from our first Christmas..
And this one is Olivia’s snowbaby…
And Presley’s snowbaby…
The kids creations from year’s passed..
This one was our first Christmas together-just the three of us anxiously waiting for Greyson to join us that following summer..
Still have a little Thanksgiving up!
Next year we will need a new name for the stockings or, as Jon said, an explanation point!
